Marion Brown, MBA
CEO & Managing Partner | Gitxaała Nation
Marion Brown is a governance and communications strategist, filmmaker and Indigenous health and policy advocate based in British Columbia. She is the CEO and Managing Partner of Vision Quest Communications, an Indigenous-owned consulting firm providing Indigenous governance support, strategic communications, policy development, and community engagement services to Indigenous Nations and organizations across Canada.
Marion brings a multidisciplinary background that integrates governance, finance, storytelling, and lived experience. She holds an MBA, has completed executive education at Harvard Kennedy School, and has extensive experience supporting Indigenous governments in areas including financial administration, trust spending, public works policy, and citizen-focused communications, with a particular focus on remote and coastal communities.
As a filmmaker and producer, Marion is deeply committed to Indigenous-led storytelling and truth-telling. Her documentary and podcast work centres survivor voices, the intergenerational impacts of colonial systems, and Indigenous women's experiences, while exploring questions of dignity, sovereignty, accountability, and healing. She is a co-creator and host of the podcast Before I Go, which examines end-of-life decision-making through an Indigenous lens grounded in honesty, compassion, and self-determination.
Marion is also a national Indigenous health advocate, drawing on her lived experience with pulmonary hypertension to advance culturally safe, Indigenous-informed health policy and care. She has contributed to national initiatives that elevate Indigenous patient and caregiver voices and help bridge gaps between health institutions and community realities.
Grounded in Gitxaała values and accountability to community, Marion's work is guided by the belief that strong governance, clear communications, and Indigenous storytelling are essential tools for self-determination, economic justice, and collective well-being.

Through cultural storytelling, she addresses sensitive topics like mental health and medical advocacy, providing a space for profound human connection and educational growth.
